An update on our Babysitting night for this Friday, November 2 -- we are FULL! Thanks so much to the families who have registered, and if you didn't get the chance, look for notices in January about our winter semester babysitting night!
See you Friday!
So far it's been a busy fall for the Fulcher Lab, but we've got plenty more events to look forward to!
Wednesday, October 31: Main Street Lexington's Halloween trick-or-treat! Find us outside the W&L Business Office with candy, a LEGO photo spot, and a LEGO give-away!
Friday, November 2: Fulcher Lab babysitting night! Join us for pizza, games, and toy study participation (with parent permission). Email the lab (firstname.lastname@example.org) to register!
And, we'll be visiting some Rockbridge county schools teaching lessons on psychology, LEGOs, optical illusions, and more. We hope to see you soon!
This past Tuesday, we had our first community outreach event of the school year! Dr. Fulcher, along with lab members Cate and Genna, visited Enderly Heights Elementary School. We had a great time and wanted to share this photo of Genna with a Lego tower built by some of our new friends!
This past weekend, we delivered all of the entries from our LEGO Build Day into the Fair Fantastics LEGO competition at the Rockbridge Fair and Expo.
Our builders ROCKED it! We brought back 11 ribbons and one BEST IN SHOW prize! Congrats to the creator of "National Park!"
Many thanks and congratulations to our builders -- be sure to email us to find a time to pick up your prize, and plan on a summer 2019 LEGO Build Day with the Fulcher Lab!
We had a great day outside building LEGOs, meeting new people, and taking pictures with our LEGO photo-op.
We hope everyone who came to the festival had a great day, and see you there next year!
Come see our Fulcher Lab booth in front of Haywood's this Saturday (August 25th) at the Rockbridge Community Festival from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. We'll have LEGO and DUPLO building stations, as well as information on our upcoming community events and research projects for the 2018-2019 school year!
Hope to see you there!
We hope everyone has a great first day of the 2018-2019 school year at Rockbridge County Public Schools!
Our research assistants are still here, so if you're looking for a fun after-school activity one day, email us to sign up for a research session! We have studies for children ages 3 to 10, all of which involve toy play.
We hope it's a great year!
Thanks so everyone who attended our LEGO build day on Saturday! We built awesome LEGO creations that we will enter into the Rockbridge Fair & Expo's LEGO competition.
Swing by the Fair on September 7th or 8th to see the creations on display!
This week, we visited Summer Fun at the Lexington Office on Youth for a lesson on LEGOs and spatial skills. We made our own LEGO and DUPLO creations, worked together as a team to build the tallest tower of Mega-Bloks, and made LEGO creations from instructions! It was a great morning at LOY!
Love building LEGOs? Think your creations are worth a prize?
We have just the day for you! The Fulcher lab is hosting a LEGO build day for children 8 and younger, where we'll build creations and enter them into the Rockbridge Fair & Expo's LEGO competition on your child's behalf.
Drop off is at 3:00 at the Great Hall of the W&L Science Center, where parents will fill out fair entry forms. Pick up is at 4:30 in the same location. Don't worry about any of the other fair details -- we'll take care of getting it to the fair, entering the creation, and bringing it back!
Email us ( email@example.com ) to sign up for next Saturday's event!
